Kerta Gosa is the first site we will visit during our Bali Besakih and Penglipuran Tour. This historic pavilion is a stunning example of traditional Balinese architecture located inside the Klungkung Palace complex in Klungkung Regency, Bali. Built in the early 18th century by King Dewa Agung Gusti Sideman, the pavilion originally served as a grand assembly hall where leaders discussed law, regional security, and the prosperity of the Klungkung Kingdom. In modern terms, this unique hall functioned exactly like a supreme court to deliver justice and peace to the kingdom's citizens. It continued to serve as an official courthouse during the colonial era from 1908 to 1942. Today, visitors can still admire historical court artifacts inside the pavilion, including antique tables and chairs
Besakih Temple
Besakih Temple is the second site we will visit during our Mother Temple and Ancient Village Tour. Located in Besakih Village within the Karangasem Regency, this majestic complex stands proud on the slopes of Mount Agung and consists of one grand central temple surrounded by 18 smaller accompanying temples. The sacred site was founded in 1284 by Rsi Markandeya, a revered Hindu religious leader of Indian descent, who was inspired to build the temple after receiving spiritual guidance during meditation on the Dieng Plateau. The name Besakih comes from the Sanskrit word Wasuki (or Basuki in Old Javanese), which translates to "safe" or "salvation." Today, this top tourist destination remains deeply important as a historical, religious, and cultural landmark that is still actively used for major Balinese Hindu ceremonies.
Kehen Temple
Kehen Temple is the third site we will visit during our Biggest Temple and Traditional Village Tour. This historic Hindu temple is located in Cempaga Village, Bangli Regency, about 45 kilometers from the center of Denpasar City. Sitting beautifully at the southern foot of Bangli Hill, the temple rests at an altitude of 483 meters above sea level, offering visitors a remarkably charming view. Historically, it was known as Pura Hyang Api, as the word kehen means fire in the old Balinese language. Ancient inscriptions show that the name evolved over time from Hyang Api to Hyang Kehen, and finally into Kehen Temple, proving the site has existed since at least 882 to 914 AD. A striking architectural feature of this temple is its unique layout, which uses a closed Candi Kurung gateway at the front entrance and a split Candi Bentar gateway.
Penglipuran Village
